Who we are
Our story
Scarlatti started in 2004, with a focus on helping organisations make better decisions using evidence, insights and practical analysis. Our name comes from both an Italian composer and a much-loved family cat!
Since then, we’ve grown steadily. We’ve expanded our team, opened offices across Aotearoa New Zealand and worked with clients both locally and internationally. Along the way, we’ve built new tools, explored new ideas and continued to evolve how we work.
But a lot has stayed the same over the last 20 years. We’re still curious about how things work. We still enjoy getting stuck into complex problems. And we still keep our clients at the heart of everything we do, making sure our work is practical and useful in the real world.
Today, we’re a team of around 20 people who bring together research, evaluation, data, facilitation and emerging technologies to help our clients move forward with confidence.

There’s no single way we work, because every project is different. But a few things stay consistent. We:
