Karen leads Scarlatti’s monitoring and evaluation team and manages many of Scarlatti’s large-scale research and evaluation projects. Her work helps clients understand whether investments are working as intended, what impact they are having, what is driving change, and what should happen next.
Karen has particular expertise in designing monitoring and evaluation approaches that are practical, proportionate and built for use. This includes developing intervention logic models, evaluation frameworks, outcomes measures, monitoring systems and reporting approaches that help teams track progress, test assumptions and learn over time.
She often works across complex, multi-year projects that involve multiple partners, funders, delivery teams and stakeholder groups. Karen brings together qualitative and quantitative evidence, facilitates sense-making with stakeholders and translates findings into clear, evidence-based judgements that support confident decision-making.
She strives to make evaluation useful (and fun!), by focusing on producing insights that help our clients improve delivery, demonstrate impact, strengthen future investment decisions, and understand what is really contributing to change.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Victoria University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Sector Evaluation Research from Massey University.
