Sam is Scarlatti’s lead developer and he also undertakes projects across the wider data science area, including those involving logistics optimisation and AI solutions.
Sam plays a key role in developing Scarlatti’s technology-enabled tools, including Confer and Vocina. His work in this area brings together software development, mathematical modelling and AI-enabled solutions to create tools that are useful, reliable and grounded in real workflows.
Sam is also involved in projects with complex operational and planning decisions, especially where organisations need to optimise routes or schedules, test scenarios, or use data to understand the likely impact of different choices.
Sam enjoys helping our clients turn complexity into practical insight. He enjoys making models of the world and building tools that help clients better understand their problems and improve the way they do things.
Sam holds a Doctorate in Physics from Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, and a Master of Science in Physics with First Class Honours from the University of Otago.
