Alex works across Scarlatti’s data science and AI solutions areas. He is also a lead developer of Vocina. His work focuses on building models and tools that help organisations understand the impact of policy and decisions on people, profit and the planet.
Alex’s work often involves bringing together data, modelling and practical analysis to support clearer, more evidence-based decision-making. He enjoys tackling varied and difficult problems, and he is willing to pick up whatever skills or techniques are needed to iterate quickly and explore problems from multiple angles. He particularly enjoys creative coding solutions, optimising large data processing tasks, and pushing what is possible with data and technology.
He has a strong interest in using frontier AI systems to improve productivity across different areas of work. This includes exploring how AI can support faster analysis, more efficient workflows, new ways of working with complex information, and richer approaches to research and insight gathering through tools like Vocina.
Alex has a Bachelor of Science in Maths and Physics and a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Maths from the University of Auckland.
